What to Wear

Open House - First Round of Recruitment

First Round of Recruitment Open House marks the beginning of the Membership Recruitment activities. Every potential member attends a 45 minute function with each of the three sororities. Recruitment Counselors will escort you to these functions. The Open House round will familiarize you with the Greek System and the benefits of “Going Greek.” Do not hesitate to ask questions about sorority life, scholarship, financial requirements, or leadership opportunities. Sorority members know that you may not understand all that sorority life involves.

Philanthropy Night - Second Round of Recruitment

The second round of Membership Recruitment focuses on each sorority’s community service activities. Learn as much as you can about each sorority, each philanthropy, and of course, talk about yourself!

Skit Night - Third Round of Recruitment

This round is longer to facilitate more in-depth conversation. Sororities present information about the ideals, responsibilities, and bonds that unite members. By this round you may begin to recognize the faces in the chapters you visit. You will also be able to recognize the individuality and spirit of each sorority. There will be a skit. Relax, and talk about anything that interests you. Expect a night full of fun. You may find yourself feeling at home, but don’t limit yourself!

Preference Night - Final Round of Recruitment

An invitation to a preference event indicates a sorority’s strong interest in you as a future member. You may attend two

preference functions. Listen carefully to what is said, they are revealing to you the strongest characteristics of their
chapters. This is your last chance to ask questions. This is the most serious part of recruitment. Members will explain
what sisterhood means to them. It is quiet, emotional, and serious. There can be more than one right choice.

What to Wear?

DO: Reception dress.
DO NOT: Prom dresses or flip flops!
