Membership Recruitment Week

Sorority Membership Recruitment Week is one week concentrating on potential members becoming acquainted with the sorority system. The week begins with a recruitment orientation on August 10, 2013. Students participating in the week’s activities will be allowed to move into their assigned university housing before recruitment activities begin.

 

Each activity planned helps potential members and sorority members acquaint themselves with one another. During recruitment functions, potential members talk one-on-one with sorority members. Presentations also provide information about each sorority’s activities and values. As the week progresses, the parties become more serious. The skits and laughter fade into ceremonies and quiet songs. Here the potential member gets a glimpse of the importance of sorority life.
 

Any regularly enrolled woman at Delta State University who is neither on social nor scholastic probation and is
properly registered for membership recruitment is eligible for participation. Each individual sorority has it’s own minimum scholastic requirements to consider in the selection process.

Women interested in Membership Recruitment Week must register using the form found near the back of this booklet. The $62.00 registration fee must also be included with the registration form. (If postmarked after August 1, 2013, the fee is $72.00) The fee includes a pizza party, a t-shirt, and mailing and printing costs. A question and answer session will be conducted by Panhellenic during the summer orientation sessions attended by new students.
