Alternatives to Formal Recruitment

Continuous Open Bidding

Open Recruitment, also known as Continuous Open Bidding (COB), begins after the conclusion of Formal Membership Recruitment Week and continues throughout the academic year. Open Recruitment is recommended for anyone who chooses not to participate in Formal Recruitment but decides to join a sorority through an informal process. Membership recruitment activities might include pizza parties, bowling, shopping, and movies. Participating sororities invite you to attend their membership activities. Keep in mind, you will not hear from all of the sororities. Some chapters may not be eligible to participate in Open Recruitment.



National Pan-Hellenic Council

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) affiliated sororities at DSU represent historically African -American national Greek-lettered community service groups . . . Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta. Each group announces membership recruitment individually and does not participate in pre-Fall recruitment.
